Internationally-acclaimed multimedia artist, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, has been selected by a Welsh community to develop a new public artwork for the Prince Charles Quay in Cardigan, as part of Channel 4’s Big Art Project.
Following recent Channel 4 Big Art Project networking event at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay, world-renowned artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is visiting Cardigan for the very first time today, Thursday 12th July to meet the people of the town and see the location of the proposed art work for himself.
Cardigan was fortunate to be one of the sites selected, out of the 1500 communities which applied for Channel 4’s Big Art Project. As a result it will be participating in a televised ground-breaking documentary featuring the transformation of its Quay-side area into a stunning and imaginative public space. In turn, the project is now looking for corporate investors and sponsors to turn the dream into a reality.
