The next public meeting will be held in Cardigan on Tuesday, September 2nd. The exact time and venue will be announced over the next few weeks. Visitors logging on to this site will however have an opportunity to post questions and comments on the proposed artwork in advance of the meeting.
In attendance at the public meeting will be Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Cardigan’s chosen artist, curator Wiard Sterk and representatives from a number of stakeholders including the technical feasibility team.
Wiard Sterk, said, ‘The feasibility stage of the project is progressing well, with trials using prototype buoys on the river Teifi to assess the potential impact on wildlife and the practicalities of situating the installation on the Teifi. Many of the previously voiced concerns and comments have been taken on board.’
‘Detailed results from this feasibility study will be presented for discussion at the public meeting on September 2nd. The findings, which will include the artwork’s detailed design, technical specifications and an impact assessment on river navigation and wildlife, will directly affect the future viability of the artwork and will be the basis for any final decisions made regarding the placing of the artwork.’

Dear Daihard,
Thank you for taking the trouble to point this out, the previous comments have not been removed, the site had been set to display the last 2 posts on the front page, with older posts archived to be read under ‘So Far…’ I have now re-set the site so that 4 posts are shown, which covers all previous comments.
Thanks again.
I first found out about the unspoilt beauty of the River Teifi on a Fishing in Wales website and since the year 2000 I have visited the area very regularly to fish for salmon ans sewin. I make a point of spending money in the area as well as enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
This art installation is a folly if it is to be placed in the Queen of Rivers. The sewin are highly sensitive to light conditions and disturbance and I emplore you to site the art work elsewhere. If I had known about the meeting in September I would have made my protest then but I have just heard about the project today on Radio 4 on the BBC 15th.Dec 2008.
Please do not spoil one of the most beautiful rivers in Britain by installing plastic balls.
Sincerely
David Allott
